The Punany Poets ~ Where sensuality meets social consciousness... The Punany Poets are a groundbreaking collective of spoken word artists, musicians, and performers who have been redefining erotic expression since 1995. Created by author and activist Jessica Holter, this dynamic troupe blends poetry, theater, music, and dance into immersive live experiences that celebrate love, liberation, and the power of storytelling.

HBO Real Sex
Jessica Holter and The Punany Poets gained national attention in 2000 after appearing on the acclaimed HBO documentary series Real Sex. However, Holter had launched The Punany Project five years earlier, in 1995, as a publishing-based initiative to raise AIDS awareness. She released her first book, Punany: The Hip Hop Psalms, in 1998.
